As an ongoing commitment to build community around film, we welcome you to explore a catalog of titles that have been shown at the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival over the last 35 years. These films celebrate the drive, spirit and diversity of women, while sharing the stories and experiences of those often unheard or unseen.
Mine
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, thousands of pets were left stranded on rooftops, or left behind by their displaced guardians who desperately wanted to take them, but couldn’t. A powerful, heart-felt story about the essential bond between humans and animals told against the backdrop of one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history.
Madeleine L’Engle: Star*gazer
An intimate portrait of Madeleine L’Engle, a fascinating thinker and imaginative writer who has authored over 40 books, including the award winning A Wrinkle in Time.
Martha and Ethel
Following World War II, in the midst of America’s new prosperity, many women willingly relinquished their mothering responsibilities to hired women. This film focuses on the lives of the filmmakers’ two nannies and reveals choices made by the parents and emotional reactions of the children.
Mavis and The Mermaid
A small girl, who doesn’t believe in fairy tales, finds unexpected help in coming to terms with changes in her life when she meets an elderly woman who claims to be a mermaid princess. It is a simple tale about love and loss and grief.
Library Policy
Films are available to borrow for all local residents of the Pikes Peak Region. Up to THREE FILMS (3) may be checked out at one time for up to TEN (10) DAYS.
These DVDs are the property of Rocky Mountain Women’s Film. Use is authorized for private home screenings only. Reproduction or public showings of these films, in whole or in part, are strictly prohibited. If you are interested in showing a film to a larger audience, please contact RMWF to make arrangements with the appropriate distributor and/or filmmaker.
