HOW TO FEST

#wffathome

Festival Overview

We'VE gone virtual.

For the last thirty-two years you’ve been coming to us, so this year we’re coming to you!  Thanks to our partnership with the online streaming platform Eventive, you will be able to watch the 2020 line up of films from your home. It’s certainly going to look and feel a little different than what we are used to, but isn’t that what this year is all about?

Highlights:

Festival Programming

We know festival planning can feel a little overwhelming and possibly more so with this new format. Good news! For the true diehards, you are now have time to watch every film in this year’s program! For everyone else, we have organized films into three categories to help you structure your week of viewing.

  • WEEKEND PROGRAMMING
  • FILM + FILMMAKER
  • DINNER + A MOVIE

Remember, these categories are only a tool to help you sort through the film offerings. You are the ultimate curator of your festival week – you can start watching films on the day they are released at any time, so you can decide what best suits your schedule and your palate!

Use the the online and printable versions of the festival schedule to help you decide on your must-see films.

WEEKEND PROGRAMMING

Just have one weekend or one day to watch? Focus on our ‘Weekend Programming’ to hone in on what will work with your schedule.

FILM + FILMMAKER

The virtual version of our actual Screening Room, these are the films to focus on if you love the post-screening discussion almost as much as the film itself. Films with this label are guaranteed to be followed by a robust conversation with the filmmaker and, when possible, film subjects. (Films in this category are not the only ones with a post-screening conversation, but they will be more in depth.)

DINNER + A MOVIE

Let’s be honest, some films are easier than others to digest. Films bearing this label are ones we think pair best with the dinner hour, and we have partnered with a number of local restaurants to make the experience that much more enjoyable. Free up precious film watching time by ordering your dinner from one of eight partner eating establishments. They will each be offering either a special menu or discounted pricing for RMWFF patrons. Details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Mark your calendar

To allow for more time to enjoy this year’s outstanding line up of films, the virtual festival has been spread out over 9 days, November 13th-21st. Films are released online on a specific day.

To access films you will need to ‘unlock’ that title on the scheduled day of its release. Once ‘unlocked’ you will have 24 hours to begin watching your film. Even if you have pre-ordered a specific film, if you forget to ‘unlock’ it on the specific release date you will not be able to watch that film. So mark your calendars and make plans to watch specific films on specific days.

Due to restrictions from film distributors and filmmakers, films are available for a limited time and with limited capacity – and they can sell out. We strongly recommend pre-ordering your choices before the festival begins.

PASSES vs. INDIVIDUAL TICKETS

You can attend this year’s virtual Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival via a festival pass or individual tickets (or “unlocks”).

Passes are available now!

Individual tickets are $10 each and will be available to purchase starting October 20.

NOTE ABOUT LOCATION:
Most films are available to viewers within the United States. Some are limited to just Colorado or the Rocky Mountain Region. Please keep this in mind when purchasing passes or tickets.
