Celebrating the drive, spirit and diversity of women through film
Driven, Spirited, Diverse Film.
We’re back at Colorado College for the 35th annual Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival. This event started with two women who wanted to offer our community a new lens on the world – the female lens, celebrating the drive, spirit, and diversity of women. This year we celebrate 35 years, we celebrate the driven, spirited and diverse filmmakers that are the foundation of our festival, and we celebrate being together and sharing an experience around film. Don’t miss out on what’s sure to be a festival to remember.
Thanks for attending the 34th annual Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival. Whether you were able to join us in-person or virtually, we were glad to gather and build community around film. We were honored to screen 40 of the year’s best films and nine filmmakers, all in a new venue (for us) – the Pikes Peak Center in Downtown Colorado Springs. This annual November event never fails to deliver an inspiring experience, not only because of the quality film and talented filmmakers, but because of our engaged audience and extremely generous sponsors.
Mark your calendars now for November 11-13, 2022 as we celebrate 35 years of film in our community. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Through the Female Lens
The longest-running women’s film festival in North America honors films and filmmakers that present the world as women experience it. The Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival showcases documentary, narrative, shorts, and animated films that are thought-provoking, enriching, and encourage both global awareness and personal growth.
founded in 1987
It all started with two women and a great idea on the road back from the Telluride Film Festival in 1987. Thirty-five years later, we’re still making a difference to people in our community as the longest-running women’s film festival in North America. Three decades of discovery, exploration, experiencing, and celebrating the drive, spirit, and diversity of women.

Donna Guthrie & Jere Martin
“I think we all had our different reasons for getting involved with starting the festival, but we shared the same big goal — to bring alternative, diverse visions of women’s stories to our community, and celebrate women’s creativity.
Our intention was to expand people’s consciousness, including our own, and continue to grow wiser about all the important issues facing us in this complex world of special interests and the deft marketing of viewpoints connected to consumerism.”
