Marissa Jackson graduated from Sierra High School in Colorado Springs in 2023. Having been a primary subject in a 2021 Youth Documentary Academy (YDA) film about toxic masculinity, she applied to and was awarded a fellowship in YDA to make the film GENERATIONAL CURSES.
After graduating high school, Marissa became a kindergarten paraprofessional, working with youth from behaviorally challenged families. She is currently training as a registered behavioral health technician.
Her film, GENERATIONAL CURSES, was selected at the 2022 All American High School Film Festival and also won best documentary in the youth category at the Short Circuit Film Festival.
