Sydnie Heslop is a filmmaker from Mount Vernon, NY, and the arts have been an integral part of her life for as long as she could remember. Growing up, she enjoyed watching films but was challenged with not seeing positive representations of herself on the screen. Because of this, she has made it a goal of hers to create films that represent people accurately, especially black people and people of color.
Sydnie has always had a passion for storytelling through many art forms including theatre and dance. Through her love for film, she creates work encompassing social and political issues with the goal to spark conversations that initiate change.
