A man relaxing outdoors on a sunny day, leaning back against a stone wall. He is wearing a white t-shirt and sunglasses, smiling warmly at the camera. The background is brightly blurred but suggests a scenic overlook or cityscape with a clear sky and greenery, creating a casual and cheerful atmosphere.

Chris Hay has 15 years’ experience in film and TV, from short-form content to documentary. He believes filmmaking should be collaborative and sensitive. His work treats athletes as humans, using sport as a vehicle through which to tell personal stories. He is fascinated by dichotomy between the invincible ‘star’ that steps onto the field and the person when the lights go off. This is evidenced by previous work including ‘All Around’ an 18-month gymnastics follow-documentary, ‘Beyond Human’, exploring the psyche of long distance triathletes, and ‘Unbreakable: England 2003’ investigating the mental health issues encountered by England’s Rugby World Cup heroes.
