As an ongoing commitment to build community around film, we welcome you to explore a catalog of titles that have been shown at the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival over the last 38 years. These films celebrate the drive, spirit and diversity of women, while sharing the stories and experiences of those often unheard or unseen.

Jacinta

Jimmy & The Demons
Celebrated artist, James Grashow, is given the biggest commission of his life and begins an exhilarating challenge that brings more than he bargained for. With a combination of endearing humor and angst, Jimmy searches for meaning and answers in his extraordinary masterpiece that reflects his own life struggles.

Jimmy Carter: Rock & Roll President
If it hadn’t been for a bottle of scotch and a late-night visit from musician Greg Allman, Jimmy Carter might never have been elected the 39th President of the United States. This fascinating documentary charts the mostly forgotten story of how Carter, a lover of all types of music, forged a tight bond with musicians Willie Nelson, the Allman Brothers, Bob Dylan and others. Low on campaign funds and lacking in name recognition, Carter relied on support from these artists to give him a crucial boost in the Democratic primaries. Once Carter was elected, the musicians became frequent guests in the White House.

Joe’s Violin
In this award-winning documentary short, a 91-year-old Holocaust survivor donates his violin of 70 years to a local instrument drive, changing the life of a 12-year-old school girl from America’s poorest congressional district, and unexpectedly, his own. Joe’s Violin poignantly illuminates how the power of music brings light in the darkest of times, how one violin transcends vast generational and cultural differences and how a small act can have a great impact.

Joyce Carol Oates: A Body in the Service of Mind
Joyce Carol Oates has remained intensely private, until now. After trying for 16 years, she finally agreed to participate in director Stig Bjorkman intelligent documentary.

Judy’s Time
Judy’s daughter, Erin, presents a loving portrait of her mother, an ironman competitor.

Juliette of the Herbs
A lyrical portrait of the life of herbalist, Juliette de Bairacli Levy, a pioneer in holistic veterinary medicine.

JUMP!
This film follows five jump rope teams from around the country who push physical and psychological limits in pursuit of winning the World Championship. After arduous drilling and mind-boggling performances, rivalry and collaboration have dramatic unexpected results.
Library Policy
Films can be accessed in two ways. ⓵ Films are available to borrow for all local residents of the Pikes Peak Region at the RMWF office. Up to THREE FILMS may be checked out at one time for up to TEN DAYS. ⓶ Films can be streamed online. Just click on a film you are interested in and you will be taken to its dedicated page. Once there you will see the link “Just Watch” where you can access free streaming of the film or be given options for streaming on other platforms.
DVDs are the property of Rocky Mountain Women’s Film. Use is authorized for private home screenings only. Reproduction or public showings of these films, in whole or in part, is strictly prohibited. If you are interested in showing a film to a larger audience, please contact RMWF to make arrangements with the appropriate distributor and/or filmmakers.
