Festival in the Community: Westside Community Center
The Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival is proud to expand our film screenings with Festival in the Community, where we host free screenings of select films leading up to the festival. It’s a chance to sneak a peek before the Festival, plus a great opportunity to introduce your friends to the wonderful and thought-provoking films the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film brings to the Pikes Peak region.
The following film is presented in partnership with the Westside Community Center.
COUNTED OUT: Directed by Vicki Abeles
Counted Out investigates the biggest crises of our time. Political polarization. Racial biases. Social injustice. Economic inequity. Climate change. And a global pandemic. All viewed through a previously unseen lens: math. In our current information economy, math is everywhere. The people we date, the news we see, the influence of our votes, the candidates who win elections, the education we have access to, the jobs we get—all of it is underwritten by an invisible layer of math that few of us understand, or even notice.
