Brenda Matthews is a proud Wiradjuri woman living in Bundjalung Country, Queensland, Australia. Brenda is a mother, a grandmother, a poet, a writer, a speaker and an emerging film director. Her debut feature documentary THE LAST DAUGHTER, was nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Documentary in 2024 and won the Social Justice Award at Santa Barbara International Film Festival in 2024. Brenda published her first book in 2023, also titled ‘The Last Daughter’, and shares her story through public speaking across the education and corporate sectors.
