Filmmaker Notes:

Too often, the media positions progressives against religious conservatives. I think most people – myself included – find that divide too simple. Documentary film gives stories space to be as complicated as they are in life. Where We Stand is just that kind of story.

Where We Stand also features female main characters at a time when women-centered stories are in short supply.

And finally, Where We Stand arrives during a fascinating moment as the Mormon church works to incorporate more gender inclusive policy.
