Film Library
As an ongoing commitment to build community around film, we welcome you to explore a catalog of titles that have been shown at the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival over the last 37 years. These films celebrate the drive, spirit and diversity of women, while sharing the stories and experiences of those often unheard or unseen.

Cailleach
Morag, 86, shares her unique love of life out on the edge, on Scotland’s Western Isles.

Caliefah
Caliefah is an entrepreneur and a single mother of three young kids. Growing up in Compton, she began her business first out of necessity, fueled by her resourcefulness. Upon discovering that personal products like soap weren’t available through the food stamp program, she saw an opportunity to provide for her family.
Calling the Ghosts
In the spring of 1992, during the Bosnian War, two Bosnian Muslim women were taken from their homes and placed in the Omarska detention camp, where they were repeatedly raped, tortured and brutalized. Unlike many others, these women managed to survive the experience. Upon release, they fought for justice and women’s rights in the global arena, lobbying the UN Tribunal to classify rape as a war crime. This documentary chronicles their harrowing experience.

Can’t Stop Now: A Choreographer Validates the Older Dancer
Featuring six remarkable “over 40” dancers and stunning choreography, this film is a joyful, inspiring confirmation that age can enhance our gifts.

Canary of the Ocean
A beguiling documentary about the fabled coral reefs which are collapsing. Like the proverbial canary in the coal mine, the coral is warning us that the oceans are in trouble. This film is a celebration of coral’s beauty and a prayer for our planet.

Carmen
Inspired by true events, Carmen is a charming story set in a village in the Mediterranean island Malta. Carmen (Natascha McElhone) has looked after her brother, the priest at the local church, since she was sixteen years old. Now almost fifty, she is suddenly left to start a new life. Facing her past, Carmen brings color to the lives of the villagers in this compelling story about a woman finding her voice.

Caroline
When plans fall through, a six-year-old is faced with a big responsibility on a hot Texas day.

Catch It
Léa Brassy grew up in northern France. By the time she was 17, she moved to southern France for the warm water surf. Accustomed to a life on the road, her nomadic lifestyle takes a pause at the Unstad break in the Lofoten Islands in Northern Norway.

Catherine’s Kindergarten
Catherine’s Kindergarten is the story of a mother’s emotional journey to confront her grief after the death of her only child, juxtaposed with her physical journey to a Nepalese mountain village to open a school in memory of her daughter.
Chalice of Repose
Told through vivid, real-life footage, Chalice of Repose documents the efforts of the Chalice of Repose Project, showing how contemplative musician-clinicians offer an “anointing of sound” that can help dramatically alleviate the pain of dying.

Change the Name
Student activists and educators from Village Leadership Academy campaign to change the name of a park from a slaveholder to abolitionists Anna Murray and Frederick Douglass in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood.
