As an ongoing commitment to build community around film, we welcome you to explore a catalog of titles that have been shown at the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival over the last 37 years. These films celebrate the drive, spirit and diversity of women, while sharing the stories and experiences of those often unheard or unseen.

Preconceived
PRECONCEIVED follows Maleeha in Texas and Maria in Colorado, two women misled to anti-abortion centers while seeking to terminate unplanned pregnancies. The film features voices from both sides of the debate, including CPC leaders and experts warning of problematic practices. Amid a shifting legal landscape, PRECONCEIVED explores the complex political and moral challenges of abortion access in America and highlights the importance of informed resources for pregnant individuals.

Prognosis: Notes on Living
In PROGNOSIS – notes on living maverick Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Debra Chasnoff is diagnosed with stage-4 breast cancer and faces down injustice as always, with her camera. With the help of her wife Nancy and their LGBTQ+ family, she traces a journey through the twists and turns of living with cancer. What emerges is a raw, intimate portrait of shifting relationships and identities—a story about holding onto people we love, as we prepare to let them go.

Promises
Rather than focusing on political events, the seven children in this film offer a compelling human portrait of the Israelli and Palestinian conflict. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Feature Documentary 74th Academy Awards.

PUSHOUT: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools
Alarmingly, African American girls are the fastest-growing population in the criminal justice system and the only group of girls to disproportionately experience criminalization at every education level. The film underscores the challenges Black girls face with insights from multiple experts across the country who have worked extensively in the field of social justice, gender equality and educational equity, giving context to the crisis and providing a roadmap for how our educational system and those who interact with Black girls can provide a positive rather than punitive response to behaviors that are often misunderstood or misrepresented.
Library Policy
Films can be accessed in two ways. Films are available to borrow for all local residents of the Pikes Peak Region at the RMWF office. Up to THREE FILMS (3) may be checked out at one time for up to TEN (10) DAYS. Films can also be streamed online. Just click on a film you are interested in and you will be taken to its dedicated page. Once there you will see the link “Just Watch” where you can access free streaming of the film or be given options for streaming on other platforms.

Reproduction or public showings of these films, in whole or in part, are strictly prohibited. If you are interested in showing a film to a larger audience, please contact RMWF to make arrangements with the appropriate distributor and/or filmmakers.
