As an ongoing  commitment to build community around film, we welcome you to explore a catalog of titles that have been shown at the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival over the last 35 years. These films celebrate the drive, spirit and diversity of women, while sharing the stories and experiences of those often unheard or unseen.

Despite their weekly training sessions, the volleyball ladies in THE OPTIMISTS, ages 66-98, have not played a match for 30 years.  Now this is exactly the plan.

Dancing for You

Vilde (12 ) wants to be the first female ‘Halling’ folk dance champion. A traditional dance for men only. Her greatest challenge isn’t the competition – she’s convinced that her strength and passion for dance and life are helping her beloved grandfather to win his fight against cancer. A beautifully crafted portrait of two generations of sports champs and a affectionate/loving grandfather-grandchild bond.

Youth Documentary Academy

The Youth Documentary Academy will present two programs.  First, AFTER WAR is an unvarnished account by Bailey Francisco of his father’s PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury and the impact these had on his family.  Second, we will show an episode from the upcoming television series OUR TIME about youth suicide in the Pikes Peak Region.  Filmmakers will be present in conversation with YDA Director Tom Shepard to discuss mental health, PTSD and suicide prevention.

Complaints of a Dutiful Daughter

Neither depressing nor too”medical,” this film is an inspiring exploration of family relations, aging and change between the filmmaker and her mother, who has Alzheimer’s Disease. Nominated for the Best Documentary, 1995 Academy Awards. Winner of the 1995 RMWFF Founders Award.

Library Policy

Films are available to borrow for all local residents of the Pikes Peak Region. Up to THREE FILMS (3) may be checked out at one time for up to TEN (10) DAYS. 

These DVDs are the property of Rocky Mountain Women’s Film. Use is authorized for private home screenings only. Reproduction or public showings of these films, in whole or in part, are strictly prohibited. If you are interested in showing a film to a larger audience, please contact RMWF to make arrangements with the appropriate distributor and/or filmmaker.
