As an ongoing commitment to build community around film, we welcome you to explore a catalog of titles that have been shown at the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival over the last 35 years. These films celebrate the drive, spirit and diversity of women, while sharing the stories and experiences of those often unheard or unseen.
Stories of Change
Interesting stories of four very different women overcoming challenges to move into their own vision of who they are.
The Best Time of My Life: Portraits of Women in Mid-life
This award-winning film depicts women in their middle years. Women aged 40 to 60 from a wide range of income levels and careers discuss their thoughts and experiences about this stage of their lives. Regardless of their particular mid-life choices, such as re-entering the workforce or embarking on a new romantic relationship, each of these women views middle age as an exciting opportunity for growth. Each feels a sense of freedom and energy to explore new directions.
The Beach
Two families spend a day at the beach. The women’s friendship is confirmed by a revealing incident that has repercussions.
The Blinking Madonna & Other Miracles
Beth Harrington is sucked into a media vortex when she captures “the miracle of the Blinking Madonna” on video during a religious feast.
Sweet Crude
The story of oil in Nigeria’s Niger Delta, the film begins with a trip to document the building of a library. It is a journey of multilayered revelation with ever-deepening questions that show the humanity behind the statistics, events and sensationalized media portrayal of the region.
