As an ongoing commitment to build community around film, we welcome you to explore a catalog of titles that have been shown at the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival over the last 37 years. These films celebrate the drive, spirit and diversity of women, while sharing the stories and experiences of those often unheard or unseen.

Faubourg Treme: The Untold Story of Black New Orleans
This film reveals the story of Treme, a district of New Orleans which has been a center of African-American culture for centuries. From its roots as the largest community of Free Blacks in colonial America to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the film shows the continuing evolution of this neighborhood.

Ferry Tales
For 30 minutes every weekday morning a unique and unlikely social happening takes place in the ladies’ room on the Staten Island Ferry. Come brave the waves, the pecking order and the rules and meet the”girls of the powder room.”

Fight or Flight
Fight or Flight chronicles the journey of the first female pilot employed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. She shares her story of how she overcame childhood trauma by taking to the sky. Drawn to flying as a means to flee her early life, she pursues a career in professional aviation and discovers she must first assemble the tools required to face her past and heal.

Finding Hillywood
An award-winning documentary about the very beginning of Rwanda’s film industry and a real-life example of the power of film to heal a man and a nation.

Finding Home
One year ago, Yolande left the island of Jamaica with her mother and siblings to join her grandmotherin Colorado Springs. In FINDING HOME, Yolande tells the story of what it means to leave your homeland and everything that you know and love to explore new opportunities in a strange new country. She recounts her story as a new immigrant and the challenges and successes involved in finding a new home.

Fire Tower
Gazing from one hundred feet above the forest, FIRE TOWER draws us into the lookouts’ world and invites us to contemplate how solitude can inspire a different connection with nature, community and our creativity.

First Lady of the Revolution
First Lady of the Revolution is the remarkable story of Henrietta Boggs, who fell in love with a foreign land and the man destined to transform its identity. Her marriage to José Figueres in 1941 led to a decade-long journey through exile, political upheaval and, ultimately, lasting progressive reforms. First Lady of the Revolution is not only a depiction of the momentous struggle to shape Costa Rica’s democratic identity; it’s also a portrayal of how a courageous woman escaped the confines of a sheltered existence to expand her horizons into a new world, and live a life she never imagined.

Library Policy
Films can be accessed in two ways. Films are available to borrow for all local residents of the Pikes Peak Region at the RMWF office. Up to THREE FILMS (3) may be checked out at one time for up to TEN (10) DAYS. Films can also be streamed online. Just click on a film you are interested in and you will be taken to its dedicated page. Once there you will see the link “Just Watch” where you can access free streaming of the film or be given options for streaming on other platforms.
These DVDs are the property of Rocky Mountain Women’s Film. Use is authorized for private home screenings only. Reproduction or public showings of these films, in whole or in part, are strictly prohibited. If you are interested in showing a film to a larger audience, please contact RMWF to make arrangements with the appropriate distributor and/or filmmakers.
